The TME catalogue now includes new graphic LCD displays by Display Elektronik. The displays are equipped with a 70x40 mm window. They offer a resolution of 128x64 dots and a screen size of approximately 3 inches. Each dot measures 0.5x0.5 mm and can be activated individually, so the matrix can be used to display text, images and simple animations.
Compact dimensions of the entire module (which do not exceed 77.4x52.4x10.5 mm) facilitate its integration into mobile devices. Selected models (designated with the suffixes: -PWN and -PW) also feature a frame to facilitate the alignment and mechanical mounting. Readability is improved thanks to white backlight LEDs (applies to the aforementioned models). Also, note that the displays come in two variants: positive and negative.
The LCDs can be powered with a voltage ranging from 2.8V to 3.3V DC, which is commonly applied in microcontroller-based circuits. The module is operated using the ST7565R family controller – supporting libraries are available for a number of programming languages and can be downloaded free of charge. Communication with the display takes place via a serial SPI or parallel 8-bit interface (more info).
