Miniature step-up/step-down converters from Pololu

The TME catalogue now includes miniature DC-DC converters with constant output voltage (available in versions from 3.3 V to 15 V DC) from the portfolio of an American brand named Pololu.

The converters offer a combination of the possibilities that the step-up and step-down circuits give, which means that they are able to provide the rated output voltage regardless of whether the input voltage is lower or higher than the rated value. The voltage range is between 2.8 V and 22 V DC. Such circuits are a perfect power supply solution for devices using battery packs, periodically connected to an external charger. They also enable users to work with renewable energy sources, e.g. cells and turbines, providing stable device operation, regardless of changing weather conditions.

The converter board’s footprint is 22.9x22.9 mm. The modules offer thermal protection, reverse polarity protection, soft-start function and protection against excessive output current. Here, it is important to emphasise that the products are characterised by high efficiency (85 %) and the output current, max. 2.5 A – it is an asset much appreciated by Pololu’s clients (more info).
