The CAP-XX SMD mount supercapacitors are designed for use in applications with limited space. They are characterized by high energy density (1.9 Wh/l) and power (128 kW /l). Their additional advantage is low ESR, which ranges from 35 mΩ to 130 mΩ. In addition, they have low leakage current and long service life. CAP-XX supercapacitors available from the TME catalogue can operate at voltages between 4.5 V and 5.5 V DC (depending on the model) at temperatures as high as 70°C or 85°C. All this in a housing protruding a maximum of 3.5 mm above the PCB surface.
The products comply with RoHS, REACH, ISO 9001:2015, and UL-810. The latter defines the characteristics that must be met by capacitors approved for use in AC filters in the USA. The CAP-XX supercapacitors are versatile. Typical applications include suppressing the ripple current between source and load and extending battery life; they can also be used as battery replacement in low-drain circuits (more info).
