The role of fuses in today's world is enormous. Therefore, it is not surprising that effective overload protection is becoming a key challenge for designers, and the right choice of fuses that break an electrical circuit at the right moment is one of the basic steps in the construction and repair of equipment.

TME offers a wide range of standard fuses. They are mostly available in 5x20mm or 6.3x32mm cylindrical casings. The main parameters of such fuses include: rated current range of 500mA to 125A and rated voltage, which ranges from 240V to 500V for AC and from 450V to 600V for DC. A fuse link can be referred to as a fast-acting (or even super-fast-acting) or time-lag fuse.

With the increasing miniaturization of many electronic devices, fuses also had to be modified. Thanks to their small footprint, these miniature fuses can be mounted directly on PCBs (SMD). They also feature a fuse link, but their rated current ranges from 375mA to 50A. The rated voltage range, when compared to cylindrical fuses, is much wider and spans from 24V to 250V (DC) and from 65V to 600V (AC). Miniature fuses are also available as fast-acting or time-lag fuses.

Another interesting type of fuses by Conquer is the MMT series (type TE5). These time-lag fuses feature a completely different, cuboid-shaped casing with dimensions of 8.4x4x5.2mm. They are designed for through-hole mounting (THT), so they can be successfully used directly on printed circuit boards.
