The SMTconnect 2020 focuses on microelectronic assemblies and systems and has set itself the goal of creating sustainable connections by bringing the community together at the trade fair in Nuremberg from 5 – 7 May 2020.
The EMS Park, which was held for the first time last year and was intended to give contract manufacturers their own platform at a trade fair, will be represented by some additional first-time exhibitors in 2020. So far, 15 companies have already registered for the special showcase area, including Bühler electronic GmbH, DELTEC Automotive GmbH & Co. KG, Kurz Industrie-Elektronik GmbH and SC Systronics SRL.
Some of these companies became aware of the EMS Park through the newly introduced Meet and Treat Tour, which presented current market data of the industry at various German locations and invited them to get to know the organizer Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH in various locations.
The EMS Park is designed with a focus on relaxed but efficient networking opportunities, which makes it particularly easy for exhibiting companies to make contact with their target groups, for example from medical technology, automotive or mechanical engineering sectors, among the numerous trade visitors.
With some new exhibitors from abroad, the SMTconnect can increase its internationality. For example, a new exhibitor from India, the full-service provider Vasantha Advanced Systems ltd. and the EMS company Elhurt Sp. z o.o. from Poland will be exhibiting at the trade fair.
However, well-known faces such as Rawe Electronic GmbH, which develops and produces electronic systems for small and medium-sized series and implements product-specific manufacturing and testing systems, will also attend as exhibitors in 2020 again.
Exclusively at the SMTconnect, the live production line ”Future Packaging“, organized by the Fraunhofer IZM, allows visitors to experience the complete assembly process, including subsequent testing, live. This year, the special show area will have the motto "The line - acting with foresight and not reacting too late". With this, Fraunhofer IZM wants to draw attention to the speed of development in the electronics sector, as well as illustrating and explaining it in tours.
Thanks to the cooperation of the Fraunhofer IZM with various machine, technology and process partners, the production line at the SMTconnect manages to look at the various currents in the industry, whether it is the optimization of the actual production processes or the all-encompassing data-technical connection. Every single technology and process can be discussed in detail with the right contact persons on site to find adaptation possibilities.
The SMTconnect offers numerous highlights to attract visitors. The annual hand soldering competition of the global trade and standardization organization IPC - Association Connecting Electronics Industries from the USA, offers soldering professionals and young professionals the opportunity to demonstrate their skills.
Besides the EMS Park, there will be other interesting joint stands: PCB meets Components, Mechatronics and Automation Cluster and the Newcomer Pavilion.
The Exhibition Forum will also be available for exhibitor presentations in 2020.
There will be a ZVEI afternoon where the ZVEI Technology Roadmap will be presented. The ZVEI will also hold a panel discussion in German at the exhibition forum on the topic of technical cleanliness in electrical engineering.
The SMTconnect will take place from 5 – 7 May 2020 in Nuremberg. Current information about the event is available at smtconnect.com.
