There’s some interesting news on Panasonic Industry’s LQ Series of electromechanical Power Relays, which is a widely-demanded, compact and high-performance relay solution designed for a vast field of applications. With a small and slim profile of 10mm (W) x 20mm (L) x 16mm (H), these relays offer flexibility in mounting orientations.

So far, the LQ Series boasts a high switching capacity of up to 10A and is available in six nominal coil voltages ranging from 5V to 24V, featuring 1 Form A or 1 form C contact arrangements.
Key features include a sealed construction for enhanced environmental protection, along with a high surge withstand voltage and dielectric strength, making them ideal for high voltage applications in ambient temperature usage, up to 85°C and 105°C. Now, Panasonic Industry announces two extensions for its popular LQ series, rendering it suitable for an even wider field of application or mounting purposes.

The new ALQ6 is designed to meet the escalating demand for high inrush current capability in automated systems, particularly in motor and LED lighting control applications. The ALQ6 can efficiently handle an inrush current of up to 40A for 100μs, making it an ideal solution for capacitive loads. With a contact rating of 10A 125VAC, 8A 250VAC, and 5A 30VDC in an 1 Form A arrangement, the ALQ6 not only delivers enhanced performance but also meets various safety standards with its increased creepage and clearance distance between contact and coil, measuring a minimum of 5.5mm – and complies with IEC/EN60335-1

Next to the new specific inrush type, Panasonic Industry Europe announces the LQ series being now available in a reflow-processable variant, catering to the evolving demands of modern manufacturing processes (more info).
