Knitter-Switch is a manufacturer that has been present on the market for more than 60 years. The company is known as a supplier of switches and other electromechanical components.

The range of products by Knitter-Switch available in the TME catalogue has just been extended to include new slide switches. These are both components designed for mounting on a PCB and screw-on versions. The latter are usually designed to be placed in custom-made slots in enclosures. They come in a wide range of dimensions: from 8x9.5x5 mm to 25x7.7x10 mm. Their contact pitch ranges from 2 mm to 5.08 mm.

The switches are made in configurations that provide from 2 to 6 stable (operating) positions. They can operate in a temperature range from -40°C to 105°C, and their mechanical life, depending on the model, spans from 5000 to 30000 switching cycles. The silver- or gold-plated contacts of the slide switches exhibit low resistance – its maximum value ranges from 10 mΩ to 500 mΩ.

Slide switches are most commonly used as components of electrical or electronic devices responsible for changing the setting or activating a power circuit. For the latter function, it is advisable to use intermediate components (relays, transistors), as the load capacity of the switch contacts does not exceed 0.05 A (more info).
