element14, an Avnet community, is celebrating its engineers and the winter holidays in the U.S. by combining giving back and ingenuity through three holiday-themed offerings including an Engineer/STEM Holiday Shopping Wishlist, an end-of-year Hack-a-Thon and a chance for local STEM groups to win electronic sets gifted by element14 Community members.

Engineer and STEM Wishlist: Shopping for an engineer is not a walk in the park. element14 has made gifting easier by creating an Engineer and STEM Wishlist. Targeted lists across multiple interests including automation, robotics, Raspberry Pi, 3D printing and more provide great ideas for those looking for the perfect gift for the engineers in their life.

Hack the Holidays: Six years running, this end-of-year Hack-a-Thon gives engineers the chance to win some of the coolest prizes element14 has given away, including a Samsung 50-inch Picture Frame TV for the best “Work of Art Hack”, a Bluetooth record player with floor speakers for “The Most Festive Hack” or a 2022 iPad Pro for “The Most Original Hack.”

  • element14 is seeking festive projects that capture the awe and wonder of the holiday season.  Like in years past, participants can work on a project inspired by gifts, food or cards exchanged during the holidays, as just some examples.
  • The competition is currently open and closes on January 11, 2023, with winners announced on January 18, 2023.

Give the Gift of STEM: This holiday season element14 is giving the Gift of STEM to small makers and STEM Groups throughout December. Community members have the chance to play Santa and help a local STEM group receive a selection of electronic kits.
