With the theme “Accelerating Innovation” productronica, the World’s leading trade fair for the electronics production industry, takes place in Munich from November 12 to 15. productronica 2019 will present the entire value creation chain for the electronics production industry and this year’s event will focus on a range of topics including smart maintenance, the smart factory and the all-important need to attract young professionals to the industry. All this as well as SEMICON Europa, which takes place alongside productronica as it did two years ago.

As always, productronica will be much more than simply an exhibition where companies show products to visitors. There will be special areas of interest spread throughout the exhibition halls and productronica 2019 will also focus on several sectors including the “Smart” Factory and “Smart” Maintenance.
To help visitors navigate their way around such a large trade fair, all the exhibition halls are clearly structured and signposted.
Messe Munchen expects more than 40,000 visitors from more than 80 countries to come to Munich for productronica where they will get the chance to see the products and services from more than 1500 exhibitors.

As usual, a full supporting programme is planned for productronica 2019. This includes the productronica forum in Hall A1, the Innovation Forum in Hall B2 and the PCB and EMS Speakers Corner in Hall B3. Visitors will be very interested to see several live demonstrations – Event Stage Cleanroom in Hall B2, the established and entertaining IPC hand soldering World Championship in the west entrance and Smart Maintenance which will take place in Hall B2. Other live demos in Hall B2 include robotics and automation.
The Smart Maintenance Pavilion will have its premiere at productronica. This special show will highlight the growing importance of maintenance as the digitization of production processes increases. The Smart Maintenance Pavilion provides an overview of current and future applications, solutions, and products for efficient maintenance.

For the third time, productronica will be awarding prizes for innovative products. An independent jury will choose the winners in six categories from products from exhibitors at productronica. The categories are Cables, Coils & Hybrids, Future Markets, Inspection & Quality, PCB & EMS, Semiconductors, and SMT. Winners will be presented with their awards at productronica on November 12.

Young professionals and start-ups will be very much a focus at productronica 2019. The “Accelerating Talents” area in Hall B2 offers a platform for students, graduates and young professionals with the aim of encouraging them to take up a career in electronics production.
“Accelerating Talents” is made up of three parts: An entertaining instructive trail to raise awareness of electronics production; A co-working space for discussions between visitors and exhibitors’ personnel managers and, in the Speaker’s Corner, visitors will find specialist Tech Slams presentations.
At a new feature called productronica Fast Forward, start-ups will present their products and solutions in a separate exhibition area and a forum in Hall B2. The companies with the most promising solutions will receive the productronica Fast Forward award on the last day of the fair (Friday, November 15).
Together with the VDMA and Fraunhofer, productronica will feature its first hackathon in Hall B2. Exhibitors will function as taskmasters for students, young professionals and start-ups who will have 48 hours in which to come up with ideas, solutions and prototypes at the fair. Exhibitors will benefit not only from the results of the challenge but also from contact with potential new employees. In return, hackathon participants will have to opportunity to introduce themselves to a potential new employer and show their skills during the challenge.
For the second time, SEMICON Europa will take place parallel to productronica in Hall B1. Comprising 400 exhibitors from the areas of semiconductor manufacturing and printed and organic electronics, SEMICON Europa is one of the leading European fairs for industry and research in the automotive, flexible hybrid electronics, power electronics, medical technology and SMART manufacturing segments.

Online registration is a very simple process. Visitors are asked to create a personal trade fair account by providing some basic information. Once an account is opened, it is possible to purchase discounted entry tickets for a single day (Euro 40.00), two days (Euro 64.00) or for all four days (Euro 84.00).
These are so-called “Print@Home” tickets which give the holder immediate entry to productronica 2019 without queuing. The same process can be used to redeem entry vouchers which exhibitors purchase for their customers. In order to exchange a voucher for a day’s ticket, holders also need to set up a personal trade fair account. Once established, voucher holders need only enter the serial number to exchange the voucher for a ticket.
Admission tickets to productronica also entitle visitors to attend SEMICON Europa, which takes place at the same time.
